The BEA has released the underlying details for the Q3 advance GDP report this morning. The BEA reported that investment in non-residential structures decreased at a 14.6% annual pace in Q3. This is the fourth consecutive quarterly decline (weakness started before the pandemic). Investment in petroleum and natural gas exploration decreased sharply in Q3 compared to Q2, and was down 60% year-over-year. Click on graph for larger image.
