Lawler: New "Household" Numbers, Same Old Conundrum

From housing economist Tom Lawler: New "Household" Numbers, Same Old Conundrum Housing Survey (AHS) for 2015, and the "Families and Living Arrangements" data from the Annual Social and Economic Supplement to the Current Population Survey (or CPS/ASEC) for 2016. Both surveys produce estimates (wildly different, of course) of – among other things – the number of US households and the homeownership rate.
